Canada Afghan

Celebrate Canada by making a new afghan!

Originally designed by Lauren in 2017 in honour of our country’s 150^th birthday, this afghan is made of squares that celebrate all things Canadian.

The squares are completed mostly with Intarsia, but some two-stranded colourwork and duplicate stitch is required. It’s relatively beginner-colourwork-friendly with nothing too complicated.

We’re reintroducing the 9 original four-square sets (36 squares), with Lauren designing a few additional sets. The first set will launch at the beginning of July, followed by another every three to four weeks.

There are two options for preordering:

• Original 9 complete set – all 9 sets with printed patterns and enough yarn to make all 36 squares, the Ravelry PDF pattern, and a discount on all additional squares sets
• Individual square sets – printed patterns and enough yarn to complete included squares

The yarn included in the kits will be Estelle Worsted (a blend of acrylic, wool and nylon). The recommended needle size is 4.5 mm. The gauge is 20 sts in 4”. And the square sizes are approximately 8.5 x 8.5”.

The first kit will be available for pick up the week of June 23^rd so you can cast on for Canada Day!
