Lauren's Library Blanket - 3

I have been cruising along on my Library Blanket. If you follow the store on Instagram and Facebook, you've seen a few clips of it. I finally have a little time to sit down and right an actual blog post which I've been meaning to do.

First off, I must say I'm loving the Heritage sock yarn (which is most of the yarn I'm using for the blanket). The yarn is nice and soft and the colours are beautiful. I'm definitely happy with my choices.

Knitting with two strands of yarn held together has been easy enough. The odd time I have to fix a stitch if I've only grabbed one strand instead of both. It's fun to mix and match each section as I work along and see how the colours combine together.

Switching colours has been relatively easy too. I just tie on new ones and keep going. Here's a great tip: tuck in ends as you go! Because this blanket has a lot of colour changes, there are going to be a lot of ends to tuck in. As I've now made some progress and have a few ends ready to be tucked in, I try and do one or two each day I pick it up to work on. By the time I'm finished I should only have a few left to do.

The garter ridges are super squishy!!! I wasn't sure I would like it since I usually prefer stockinette stitch. But garter is perfect for this blanket. It's a great stitch to be using with the two strands of yarn marled together.

Below you can see the first three sections completed. It isn't always easy to get a good picture as I don't have a professional camera. If you ever want to see it in person, I usually bring it with me to the store.

I'm working on colour codes so you can get a sense of what your blanket will look like as you choose your colours. Should have it ready by the next Blanket update. Stay tuned!
