It's been a long winter already with the super cold temperatures and the latest blasts of snow. I'm definitely looking forward to a change of outside colour. Being in Northern Ontario, the wait for green grass always seems a little longer.
As for the store, this post has all the latest news for Sweet Yarns for the month of March. Please read through all the notes below.
We seem to be starting off March in the Orange - Restrict zone.
Customers are able to come into the store to shop. We will continue to be limited to three (3) customers at a time to maintain physical distancing.
Please make sure to wear a mask as per the Province's guidelines. We have hand sanitizer available for use.
Please do not touch anything unless you are purchasing it. I am happy to assist with pulling items off the shelves so you can have a better look.
We will continue with our current hours for the time being - Tuesdays (10 to 3), Thursdays (1 to 6) and Saturdays (10 to 3). If the times don't suit, contact the store to book an appointment.
You can shop through the website any time. If you prefer to not shop online, send me your list via emails, messages or phone calls.
We are continuing to offer curbside pickup, delivery and shipping. We want all our customers to be comfortable and get the supplies they need.
When Greater Sudbury returns to green or yellow, we'll reopen classes and in store knitting times.
New season means new yarns.
We had in some cotton sock yarn already but it went so fast. I've placed another order and it will be in again soon.
We did our Berroco Spring Yarn Tasting virtually on Thursday night. There are lots of great new ones. I've done up a blog post on the website so you can get all the info and watch the Facebook Live.
We're currently sticking to Virtual KALs. This means I show tips and tricks as well as my own WIP during our Virtual Connections. We won't be meeting up in person for any knitting but you are welcome to share your progress in our Sweet Yarnies group on Facebook.
The Alaska hat KAL starts today (March 1st). I can't wait to see all the yarn combinations knit up.
We're planning to do a shawl KAL next. Details will be coming soon. Make sure to tune in if you're interested.
Connect with other crafters virtually on Facebook.
Virtual Craft Break - Mondays at 12:30PM (half an hour) through Facebook Live.
Virtual Knit Night - Thursdays at 6:30PM (one hour) through Facebook Live.
We also have a Facebook group to share the projects we're working on - Sweet Yarnies.
Thank you to all those who have been patiently waiting for orders. One of my suppliers gave us yarn shop owners a little break down on how things are currently going. With Covid affects going on worldwide, it's taking longer to produce and ship products. For example, a yarn manufacturer in Peru is currently running at 50% capacity to provide a safe environment for it's workers.
That being said, orders are starting to arrive and we should be all caught up in the next little while. Thanks again and I'll be in contact with you as soon as your items are in.
Stay safe and healthy!
