June is the Sweet Yarns' anniversary month. I purchased the store from the previous owner on June 19th. And the store was founded on June 29th. If we weren't still stuck in this miserable pandemic, we'd be throwing a party. Fingers crossed for next year!
We do have a few fun things planned throughout the month so here is all the latest news for Sweet Yarns for the month of June. Please read through all the notes below.
SHOPPING
There was an announcement made recently and the Stay-Home order will be ending on the 2nd. However, it looks like things won't be changing for the store until Ontario starts Phase #1 (around June 14th). This means we are still unable to have any customers in the store for the time being. We still have a lot of options for you though. You can shop on our website 24/7, send me your lists via emails, messages or phone calls, or shop in person via our new Sidewalk Shopping (see the slideshow on our website for the details). We are offering curbside pickup, deliveries and shipping.
Our current hours continue for Sidewalk Shopping and Curbside Pickup - Tuesday (10 to 3), Thursdays (1 to 6) and Saturdays (10 to 3). If the times don't suit, contact the store to book an appointment.
Deliveries in Greater Sudbury occur usually before or after the store hours. Shipping is done usually next business day.
An update to our shopping procedures will be sent out as soon as there are any changes.
Preorders for our Sweet Yarns Anniversary Surprise Box will be closing on June 1st. If you haven't ordered yours yet, now is the time. This luxury box is going to be fabulous!
Sock-a-palooza starts June 1st! Details have been posted on our blog and in our Sweet Yarnies' group. We hope that you'll join in the fun.
We're going to be a little sock-obsessed for the month. A Sock Talk (blog post) will be posted each Monday at 10AM (first one May 31). We'll be highlighting sock topics on all our social media throughout the month too. I'll be showing off my progress and answering questions on our Virtual Craft Breaks and Knit Nights as well.
We are having so much fun connecting virtually on Facebook. It's great to have some new people joining in.
Virtual Craft Break - Mondays at 12:30PM (half an hour) through Facebook Live.
Virtual Knit Night - Thursdays at 6:30PM (one hour) through Facebook Live.
We also have a Facebook group to share the projects we're working on - Sweet Yarnies.
This Antlers Beach Throw is trending on social media right now. It's designed by some Canadian girls from the West Coast and knit out of Estelle Yarns' Merino Big. We've got it up on our website now for preorders until the beginning of July. Kits should be in by the end of that month.

Our July Knit-a-long will be this gorgeous sweater - Grouse Creek. Kits and tools are available now for preorder through our website until June 15th. It will be a fun top-down project to do. If you need help choosing colours, contact the store and I'll be happy to help you.
We're going virtual for World Wide Knit In Public Day again this year. Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 12th.
I'll be kicking off the day with a Facebook Live at 10AM. Spend sometime knitting (or crocheting) outside and send us your picture. At the end of the day, I'll create an album on our Facebook page.
