August @ Sweet Yarns

Have you been enjoying your summer? I feel like we've had a pretty good balance of warm days and wet ones although it would be nice to have some hot days in a row. Then I'd really wish I was at a beach or a pool. Do you take your knitting with you to work on by the water?

As we head into August, here is the latest news for Sweet Yarns for the month. Please read through all the notes below.

As Ontario is in Phase #3, we no longer have limitations on shopping instore other than customers need to stay 6 feet apart. It's so nice having customers back in and see your smiling faces from behind the masks. To make sure everyone is comfortable, we are continuing to offer curbside pickup, deliveries and shipping.

Our current hours continue for the month of August - Tuesday (10 to 3), Thursdays (1 to 6) and Saturdays (10 to 3). If the times don't suit, contact the store to book an appointment.

Deliveries in Greater Sudbury occur usually before or after the store hours. Shipping is done usually next business day.

You can shop on our website 24/7, send me your lists via emails, messages or phone calls, or shop in person via our new Sidewalk Shopping (see the slideshow on our website for the details). We are offering curbside pickup, deliveries and shipping.

An update to our shopping procedures will be sent out as soon as there are any changes.

Our Fall Yarn Tasting event is this coming Thursday, August 5th. We'll be doing it on our regular Virtual Knit Night at6:30PM. Make sure to tune in to this Facebook Live to see all the new yarns featured. If you preordered a kit, they are available for pickup starting tomorrow (Saturday). I can't wait to see which yarns you fall in love with and inspire another knit-a-long!

We've been having so much fun doing our Grouse Creek sweaters. Check out all the progress shots in our Sweet Yarnies group on Facebook. Everyone who is working on one has done an amazing job so far. We had one customer already finish hers and a few others aren't far behind.

I've been writing blog posts about sweater construction, specifically featuring the Grouse Creek that we're working on. You can check them all at on the website. I've been sharing lots of tips and tricks, and how to make the sweater fit you better.

We are having so much fun connecting virtually on Facebook. It's great to have some new people joining in.

Virtual Craft Break - Mondays at 12:30PM (half an hour) through Facebook Live.

Virtual Knit Night - Thursdays at 6:30PM (one hour) through Facebook Live.

We also have a Facebook group to share the projects we're working on - Sweet Yarnies.

Our Semi-Annual Clearance Sale will be wrapping up soon. We've cleared out a lot items but there is still some great stuff. Make sure to stop by the store and check it out. Most items have been marked down to 75% off.

I know you don't want to think about it yet (I don't really want to either), but I am starting to plan some things for the Fall. It's hard to know what all we'll be able to do as things are still up in the air with the Pandemic.

We're hoping to have a knitting area back in the store soon as well as offer classes (even if they are only one-on-one). If there's something you are interested in, please let me know and we'll try to get it added into the plans.

As always, thank you to all those who continue to support Sweet Yarns through all this.

Stay safe and healthy!
